A Magoffin County man was indicted recently by a federal grand jury for allegedly receiving and possessing child pornography.

According to court documents, a federal grand jury in London indicted David Keith Jackson, 53, of Allen Drive, Salyersville, on two counts of receipt of child pornography and a one-count charge of possession of child pornography.

According to court documents, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crimes branch began investigating Jackson during an undercover operation in which police learned someone had been uploading sexually explicit material featuring minors.

In 2021, a search warrant was served at Jackson’s residence, documents said, during which time police found additional material depicting child sexual exploitation.

According to the indictment, the material Jackson received and possessed featured prepubescent females engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

According to the indictment, if found guilty, Jackson faces a sentence of between five and 20 years in prison on the receipt of child pornography charges and a maximum of 20 years in prison on the possession charge. All the charges also carry a five-year term of supervised release. Jackson also faces a mandatory monetary assessment in the case.
